Not dead yet - just different.

It certainly has been a long time since I've written anything intended for this space. So much has transpired over the course of the past year or so during which I have been absent from this little virtual playground.. I'm not sure where I should - or could - even start.

So, well.. I sold my e-commerce business, which explains the huge influx of reminiscing photos below.

I can't really put my finger on what exactly was the final deciding factor that propagated me toward this decision, but I believe it was the correct choice. Not because any interest or passion for the fashion industry or the digital retail sector had been lost on my part; rather, I felt I was encumbered by too much responsibility weighing on my shoulders. Often I would look toward peers holding full time jobs with nary a care in the world, without having to worry about profit and loss and having their finances tied up in a business, and I would inadvertently feel a twinge of envy.

Don't get me wrong, though - I am an entrepreneur at heart, and I will always be. I am unafraid of hard work and I believe in the possibility of success. The problem lies in my lack of maturity, I believe. When I started my business, I lacked the maturity to really take it to places and bring it home due largely to my lack of focus and motivation. I squandered my time partying, having fun and leading a self-gratifying lifestyle, while never putting work first.

As two young teenagers, Brenda and I also lacked the financial capability to pump the resources needed into our growing business. We weren't even sure how to handle investors and turned them away, which is on hindsight the stupidest move we have ever made. But live and learn, man, live and learn. I routinely kick myself when I think back upon the opportunities that I have passed up, but these experiences have all taught me so much. Life is a constant learning process, and even now, as I sit at my desk at my brand new offfice in a company to which I am but another PMEB, whilst I wait for the rain to stop pouring so I can leave the office and go home, I am learning. I am growing. And one day, one day.. I will accomplish what I had set out to do years ago.

I will find success.

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Advertorial

I've never been a fan of sunscreens, and I believe I'm not alone on this. Sunscreens often take on a thick, white and sticky consistency, and have the tendency to turn oily and grimy on skin after exposure to heat and perspiration.

I did try using sunscreen once or twice but always ended up with a caked up result. Trust me - bb cream and powder over sunscreen does NOT create a good look.

So, I was pleasantly surprised when Biore sent me their new UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence sunblock. The name itself suggests a light and refreshing formula, and we all know how important that is especially due to the hot and humid local climate.

True to its name, the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is incredibly lightweight and refreshing, and pleasantly odor-less! Because of its smooth and watery consistency, a small dollop goes a long way. It actually seems too good to be true - how can something so light actually protect my skin against the sun's harmful rays?

So I did a little research, and found out that the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is formulated with Biore's breakthrough Aqua Rich technology that has water-based Aqua Micro Capsules, and these contain UV blocking ingredients. These capsules release the UV block ingredients and turns the formula's texture into a water-smooth consistency for more effective absorption into skin.

The Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence protects against both UVA and UVB rays, which means your skin will be well protected from aging, wrinkling and burns caused by the sun. It also carries a Sun Protection Factor (commonly known as SPF) of 50, which will protect your skin for approximately.. 9 - 12 hours, depending on your skin tone.

That's more than enough, considering how there's no way any human being in the right mind would be exposed to the sun for more than 9 hours.

Application was smooth and fast, and makeup glided on effortlessly with no caking or splotches. Definitely something I can see myself using on a daily basis!

The part circled in white is where I applied the sunscreen and as you can see, there is absolutely no difference between that portion and the rest of my skin. My skin remained smooth and matte with zero white residue.

Also, I'm a real cheapskate when it comes to sunblock and sometimes, skin care items too. :x Which is bad, I know. But I'm a sucker for pretty things, and I usually would rather splurge on expensive makeup instead. And that's where the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence comes in!

With a extremely affordable price tag of $18.90, you know your sunscreen investment won't break the bank.

*Retails at all Watson outlets and drugstores.

Love Note to Stomach

Dear stomach,

It's really tough being your owner. You growl and call out for food in 2 hour intervals as opposed to the normal 4 - 5 hour interval of a normal stomach. It's alright; I understand you are special with unique needs. I'll deal with it. What I don't understand is how you can be so ungrateful. After feeding you, you insist on pushing the food around to other parts of the body (who, by the way, have never offended you before) and cause these body parts to get fat. That really isn't a nice thing to do, stomach. These body parts are innocent. They've never asked to get fat, and you are not taking responsibility for your greedy actions.

Also, stomach, you also happen to be exceedingly choosy. I can't just feed you anything cos you might repel it. Why, stomach? Why? Do you really need to be such a nitpicker?

And now we get on to the issue of alcohol. Alcohol is a social lubricant. It's a refreshing beverage choice. It's wonderful on so many levels and it makes my mouth erupt with joy. Why, then, do you insist on expelling it every time I consume copious amounts of it? You are being very unappreciative. I'll have you know that every ounce of alcohol that goes into you, dear stomach, doesn't come cheap.

Lastly, dear stomach, I think you need some volume control. There are times when I sit alone in the office or on the bus, and all of a sudden you make your presence known by growling in a shockingly loud volume. That isn't cool, cos people will turn to stare. And you don't just growl once - no - once is never enough for you. You constantly growl and thunder away for no apparent reason except to make my life THAAAT much more miserable. IT IS EMBARRASSING, and I have to ask that you cut it out.
